And since the side pouches are attached to the bag (and your bike!) solely by those stitches the entire pouch would get ripped off the bag and onto the street along with its contents.Another design flaw has been mentioned by others. The bag is held onto your rear rack by two Velcro straps on the bottom of the bag. Not only is this likely inadequate, it also means that it is a pain to put on and take off if you have rear fenders. (At least for me)One other design flaw I noticed is that the top handle is attached to the top of the bag alone. This means that if you are using the handle to carry the bag, its entire weight is being carried by the zipper. This also makes it difficult to open the bag and access its contents without putting it down. The bag comes with a strap which attaches to the bags sides, so this is not a fatal flaw.I would not recommend this bag for any cyclists unless the expandable side pouches were redesigned to eliminate the structural weakness. The other two problems can be worked around. As much as I want to leave a good feedback, I can't. I love the color, the concept, even the design. The side saddles ripped the first time I used them. I received a second trunk bag. Brand new out of the box, I pulled out side saddles and pulled slightly where they are stitched, and it is too obvious the material is flawed and will eventually rip. I spent a lot of time making a decision which trunk bag to get and I chose this one based on them stating material issue had been fixed. Well, it hasn't been fixed. Really disappointing.Update:I removed a star for build quality. The stitching on the small loop on the back of the bag has come completely undone and I nearly lost my taillight because of it. I hung a small taillight on it that probably doesn't weigh more than a 5 ounces with batteries installed. For the price, I guess it's not a terrible deal, but they could at least make the stitching strong and secure.Original Review:I suppose I should have looked more carefully before purchasing but the side bags don't have a hook to keep them from flopping around and there are no small pockets inside the main compartment for storing small items.
Too tiny. Almost useless.Side/pannier pouches should have a dual zipper instead of a single zipper so the pouch can be unzipped from the center to help secure contents from falling out the side of a single zippered pouch. Straps to secure bag onto rack were difficult to take off and even more difficult to attach/secure to rack. Panniers were flimsy and small with no strap to attach to rack to secure them. Zippers did not work smoothly at all. Zippers were very sticky and frustrating to use. I sent it back the next day.I purchased a Topeak MTX DXP bag that blowed it away. The DXP bag only appears slightly larger, but probably has twice the storage/carrying capacity. The side pannier pouches have dual zipper pulls so you can have them meet/close in the top center and not have to worry about items slipping out the bottom side closure like on the Disconano bag.I paired the Topeak MTX DXP Bag with a Topeak MTX Rear Rack which incorporates the mounting track and clip to quickly and easily put the bag on the rack and take it off the rack. The rider is going to carry their rear rack bag with them if there is anything valuable in it. If it’s is empty, then you didn’t need to carry it on your rack in the first place.
Beautiful bag, but the Velcro straps to attach the bag to a luggage rack are too short! Debating whether to return them or break out the sewing machine to fix their shortsighted design. Obviously somebody in their accounting department complained about the use of too much Velcro tape, but never thought about it from the customer viewpoint. What a silly place to try and make a penny or two. These bags are seemingly well made and I like the design. Now if I could only get them mounted on my bike. The straps are long enough to barely match the Velcro sections when the bag is squeezed down for packing, but no way to get them stretched across the rack. What a shame.
